Apple Abandons YouTube App, a major snub to Google!!! An overview of the strategy involved behind this move

Late Steve Jobs brought about a revolution in form of an iphone device which was introduced in 2007. Since then there’s no looking back!!! iphone has turned out to be the World’s best and most popular cell phones. Its most amazing feature is pre-installed YouTube application.

But it’s difficult to absorb the announcement of eliminating Google map apps. Apple confirmed that YouTube app won’t come in the beta version of iPhone and iPad software iOS 6. In other words, apple has decided to abandon YouTube app from iOS6 just like they decided to do away with Google map apps. After the shocking announcement Apple and Google gave their respective statements:

Apple -
“Our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended, customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be introduced on the App Store.”
Google –
“We are working with Apple to ensure we have the best possible YouTube experience for iOS users"
Late Steve Jobs Vowed for their Rivals –
Steve Jobs vowed till his 'last dying breath' to destroy iPhone rival, Android in a 'thermonuclear war'. Embarked (tactics to beat Android) on a war against Google and Android, suing companies who have adopted the software for their phones or tablets
It is disbelieving after sharing a bitter experience with Apple, Google has still decided to go ahead and give a helping hand to Apple.
Sharma says”, It's not a secret there's some tension between the two companies.”
So Many Unanswered Questions Coming in Mind:
  • Why has Apple dumped YouTube app after doing the same with Google map app?
  • What is the inner motive of Apple against Google and Androids?
  • Why is Google working for apple in spite of so much bitterness?
  • Will Google develop their own apps in substitute for these services and launch them for iOS6?
  • What about the user’s who run iOS5 and older version software?  Will they still be able to use YouTube app?
  • Will the HTML5 version of YouTube do better than beta iOS6 version?
  • Will Apple develop their own apps for YouTube and Google map in future?
  • Is Google wishing to make money from its YouTube advertising?
  • Will Google need Apple’s help to advertise for YouTube?
  • Will Android follow Google?
  • Who is going to suffer more, Apple or Google after this announcement?

The answers to the above are still awaited either from Apple Inc. or Google team. However, one is sure for some great announcements and anticipates an amazing app experience in future for iPhone and iPad users. Am sure it would be a worth waiting experience!!!

  1. I personally feel iPhone 5 is path breaking. In the recent incident of Apple Vs Samsung, iPhone app developers NYC USA have seen what Google could offer.Android app developers USA have been working hard & with the launch of You tube's special app for iPhone tells all.Amidst of all this, I personally feel that iPad app Development USA is yet to fall prey of this global app-war.
